A Cabbage
This is a picture book for children. I wrote this story with the aim of exploring the nature of beauty and mordern art. It tells the story of "different people have different ideas about the same work of art when they see it in an art museum. " But in reality, the work was created when the artist's cat accidentally knocked over a bottle of paint.
My family doesn't have an artistic atmosphere. Sometimes, after I have finished a work, my relatives will ask me: "What does this picture mean? "While reading books on art theory, I came into contact with Wolfgang Iser's summoning structure. It refers to the uncertainty caused by the blank and negation of a work of art, presenting itself as an open structure, which in itself calls for the active participation of the receiver at any time, accepting through imagination in a way of re-creation.It immediately reminded me of the question I was often asked: "What does this painting mean? "
In fact, the significance of the painting is not solely determined by the author. The audience is also given the right to participate in the composition of the work's meaning. So, "a thousand readers makes a thousand Hamlett. "
I created a 23-page picture book. The picture book includes some interactive settings and a clay cover. A female artist named Elsa Guy held a solo exhibition in the art museum. One of the exhibits is a cabbage with paint on the surface. Different audiences have different reactions when seeing this exhibit.
